Welcome to the State of the School, 2023.
Earlier this year, we introduced three strategic priorities that are guiding Oakwood School into the future: ACTION, CURRICULUM, and BELONGING. Here you can learn more about how students and teachers are living out these priorities, in the classroom and beyond. Our principals, Denise Ross, Erin Nowak, and William Perkins Tift have put together wide-ranging overviews—each focused on ideals that further our educational mission:
At last year's State of the School, we heard directly from students about their wants, needs, and demands for the future. This year, we primarily hear from our educators about how Oakwood's unique approach to teaching aligns with our shared vision for the school.
As you'll see above, there’s a lot happening at Oakwood, but this State of The School presentation is by no means comprehensive. Additionally, several of the initiatives you will learn about are also works in progress that will continue to evolve for years to come.
